Oklahoma State Cowboys Spring Game 2012

The Oklahoma State Cowboys Spring Game is behind us. In case you missed it, we have a quick Cowboys recap.
J.W. Walsh completed 16 of 27 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Clint Chelf completed 18 of 31 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys didn't announce a fall quarterback starter after the game.
Also for the offense, Charlie Moore, a junior receiver, broke out with nine catches for 243 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensive end, Tyler Johnson, made five tackles, a sack, two tackles for a loss and a recovered fumble. Linebacker Caleb Lavey had five tackles and two tackles for a loss.

Justin Blackmon Drafted by Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to select wide receiver Justin Blackmon with the fifth overall selection.
Blackmon will be the featured option in a Jacksonville passing attack that had suffered greatly last season. The Jacksonville offense averaged just 136.2 yards per game through the air.
Blackmon finished his collegiate career in Stillwater, OK with 253 receptions and 3,564 yards over the course of three seasons. Blackmon had 122 catches for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns in leading the program to a 12-1 record.
Congratulations to Justin Blackmon on his success with the Cowboys and his future success with the Jaguars.

Fiesta Bowl Game Review

Third-ranked Oklahoma State outlasted No. 4 Stanford, 41-38 in overtime. Cowboy Quinn Sharp played a key role for Oklahoma State, nailing both of his field goal attempts.
The Cardinals saw victory slip away as Jordan Williamson missed three attempts, including one that would have won the game at the end of regulation and another in the extra period.
The Fiesta Bowl brought together two explosive, yet different, offenses. Oklahoma State was the master of the lightning score, averaging 49.3 points a game. Stanford relied on balance tied to quarterback Andrew Luck and running back Stepfan Taylor. The Cardinals averaged more than 200 yards passing and rushing while scoring at a 43.6-point pace.

Kevin Blaske Hired as Football Athletic Trainer

Kevin Blaske was hired by the Oklahoma State athletic department for the role of head athletic trainer for the Cowboy football team. Blaske spent the last 10 seasons at the University of Miami, Florida.

Oklahoma State Cowboys Over Arizona Wildcats in Alamo Bowl

Justin Blackmon, of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, caught nine passes for 117 yards, including two amazing touchdown grabs to lead No. 16 Oklahoma State to a 36-10 victory over Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.
Blackmon scored on a 71-yard catch-and-run down the right sideline in the first quarter, helping the Cowboys take an early 14-point lead on the way to its first 11-win season in school history.
Brandon Weeden, also a Cowboy, passed for 240 yards and connected with Blackmon for both touchdowns. Jeremy Smith scored on a short run and Markelle Martin returned an interception 62 yards for another score in the amazing win!

How bout them Cowboys? Well, the 2010 season hopes to be a season to remember for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Leading the charge will be "veteran" quarterback Brandon Weeden. Weeden is a 26 year old junior first time starter but played 5 years of minor league baseball before Oklahoma State. In the backfield will be Kendall Hunter, which the Big 12 knows all about. As a sophomore Kendall Hunter ran for 1,555 yards and 16 touchdowns as an All-American. Junior Hubert Anyiam is expected to be the primary target at wide receiver. The Oklahoma State Cowboys are hoping to capture a Big 12 Title and a National Championship. Oklahoma State Cowboys Fans and the Bedlam Series

Almost every football team has a rival and almost all rivalry games get heated... But little compares to the Oklahoma State Cowboys - Oklahoma Sooners Rivalry. The two teams have been playing each other for bragging rights since 1904. Since that day the game has gotten more intense and the fans have gotten crazier.
The series started when the Sooners took on the Cowboys on an exteremely windy and frigid day. As the ball was being punted the wind caught a hold of it and took it backwards into a frozen creek, with a touchdown on the line both the Oklahoma Sooners roster and the Oklahoma State Cowboys roster dove into the freezing cold water to retrieve the ball. The Sooners came out with the ball and eventually won the game, and the Bedlam series was born.
The game itself as become a bit more tame, with the players staying on the field now... but the fans have picked up the craziness. Oklahoma Sooners fans are known for painting themselves head to toe in orange and black and pulling pranks on the Sooners players and fans in the days right before the game. This years Bedlam Series game will be at the University of Oklahoma but you can be sure that Cowboys fans will be out in mass to be a part of one of the longest and most heated football rivalries!
